Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta is expanding its presence in Tokyo with a new store. Located in Tokyo’s Azabudai Hills, the boutique features curved walls and smooth plaster surfaces. The space will house the brand’s lineup of products and will include a private salon space alongside rare pieces and exclusive made-to-order services.
Japanese expansion
Creative director Matthieu Blazy designed the space, inspired by the modernist architecture of the Mediterranean and its host country's design ethos. The boutique is defined by its rounded surfaces and the walls, alcoves and nooks are finished with Japanese white plaster. Alongside the white plaster, teak wood adds warmth to the space and can be found in the shelving, hanging rails, display cabinets and tables. Venice-based Japanese glass artist Ritsue Mishima created a bespoke installation that pays homage to the brand’s Venetian roots. The space is dotted with a curated medley of plants curated by horticulturalist Seijun Nishihata. Tokyo also boasts the brand's flagship store in Ginza. Spanning six floors and covering 8,600 square feet, it is the largest Bottega Veneta store in Asia. The new boutique can be found at 5-9-1 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo Azabudai Hills Garden. It operates daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and appointments can be booked
