“A jewel of Colonial architecture, Fleur de Mer is most certainly one of the most beautiful properties on the island, with a breathtaking 270° sea view and grounds of more than one hectare”.
An imposing entrance and a road that winds between the vegetation, leading to the discovery an exceptional villa at the top of the hill.
Perched on a plateau on the heights of Colombier, this residence, built by ODP, with its remarkable dimensions, blends perfectly into its natural surroundings, thanks to its one level layout. It has a spectacular view over the islands of Saint Kitts, Saint Eustache, Saba, Saint Martin and Anguilla on the horizon. In this blissful kingdom, located in the heart of the unspoilt nature, you can bask next to the endless infinity pool, sipping a delicious rum cocktail, mesmerized by the dazzling sunsets.
As you cross the threshold of the stone entrance of this grand villa, Fleur de Mer, a small staircase leads to the house, framed by enchanting waterfalls lined with pebbles, where the water flows fresh and clear. You arrive in the first open air interior courtyard, where you find a spellbinding Japanese pond, with water lilies and reeds, a true Garden of Eden, that is surrounded by the house! Straight ahead, the roofs and turquoise blue sea seem to frame the neighboring island of Saba on the horizon. Typical of the traditional Colonial architecture, the house is made up of several bungalows, with the kitchen, dining room, reception room, TV room and Master suite, all in a row at the front of the house. All the rooms converge to the heart of the house: the terrace. A vast outside living space, bordered by the pool, that seems to stretch out into the Caribbean Sea.
Perfect for celebratory stays, the layout is perfect for a group of friends or a large family. Five rooms have been designed to accommodate up to ten guests, in the ultimate of comfort and style. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and private terrace. Bougainvillea and other colorful flowers perfume the Master suite and its private terrace, set just behind. Inside, the simple décor highlights the colorful exterior and large windows. An elegant office leads to his and hers bathrooms, with indoor and outdoor rainfall showers. And the height of luxury? An intimate Jacuzzi, perfect for romantic evenings under the stars.
For the furniture, the designers have focused on elegance and sophistication, with works of art and shades of cream. Writing desks, chaises longues and antique freestanding mirrors, all bespoke pieces made in precious mahogany wood by an island cabinet maker and superb four poster beds add to the colonial architecture touch. The gourmet kitchen is ideal for creating memorable Créole meals. Equipped with a top of the range cooker, it is also perfect for a private chef. In the next room, there is a large dining room, suitable for entertaining many guests. As for the living room, it is open on three sides and has a breathtaking view over the Caribbean Sea and a stunning high ceiling. It is both spacious and well ventilated. A must? The last bungalow hidden in the greenery, just a few steps from the main house sets the benchmark for the most sportive of people – a superbly equipped gym with a view over the mega yachts below…
