Introducing Agents Who Give Back
As we continue to learn more about the luxury consumer we are seeing a trend in consumers truly wanting to invest in luxury purchases that give back to a specific cause.
Clari Vega of member brokerage, LX Costa Rica contributes to the community in two ways, one strategic and one tactical.
On the strategic level, she has realigned the company's focus to not only focus on luxury real estate, but also include involvement and contribution with the local communities. Every person in the company participates in the community programs. This includes the tactical efforts of contributions to Kiva microloans for women in need of housing in Costa Rica and Central America primarily, support for Habitat for Humanity in Costa Rica, and their internal positive luxury commitment through the "Butterfly Mark" which aligns their sourcing, hiring, environmental, and individual practices to be consistent with a conscious community role.
LX Costa Rica contributes from the inside out. The process starts with their own team that goes through a community training to generate the necessary sensibility towards their role in the larger community, beyond the direct clients they serve. The team then works one on one with their clients to communicate this same perspective, learn about the client's own efforts, and whenever possible involve the client in their efforts with shelter building, microloans for housing, or any other current projects. Part of their profits help fund organizations that are already doing great things and just need their support and attention to have more impact, organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Kiva. They also support individual efforts from the LX team and how each person decides to participate in the community.
